After the Mountain Inn was expanded from Center Street to this corner of College Avenue and Mountain Street, the inn was billed as the Motel in the Sky. Its swimming pool on the third floor and its views of the Boston Mountains to the southeast certainly made occupants feel like they were in the sky. By the time this card was printed by Gough Photo Service of Tulsa, Oklahoma, circa 1960, the Mountain Inn Motor Lodge had 95 hotel rooms, a bar on the second floor, retail space and lobby on the first floor, and a six-floor parking garage. The building was razed in 2005 to make way for a new hotel.
