The geographic information system department for the city of Fayetteville has created a new online map, a screenshot of which is shown above, that allows residents to see the general age of buildings across the city. The color coding uses red to show buildings erected prior to 1900, orange for 1901-1940, yellow for 1941-1960 and green for 1961-2011.
The map also has a layer, not shown here, that includes the boundaries of Fayetteville's historic districts and the location of buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
The ages are drawn from property information on file with the Washington County Assessor's Office, so don't take the city to task for any discrepancies in age.
