The following people were listed as owning slaves in the 1860 census, either in Fayetteville or in the surrounding Prairie Township. Red bars show the number of people owned slaves within the city, and blue bars show those held slaves in the township. Two people — William Cunningham and David Walker — reported owning slaves both within the city and in the township.
Where known, the spelling of names is corrected in this list from the census record.
Issac Murphy was the only delegate to vote against secession.
